Week 34 started better than week 33. I am on the mend after the events of last week. The antibiotics have kicked in and my asthma is under control again. The aches and pains are better too but Spatze ( our cat) and I have had to have an extra sleep the last couple of days. We have both been up in the night me with asthma and Spatz being sick. Rob moaned about broken sleep as I cleared up after my furry baby which made me smile given Thomas's arrival in the next five weeks!
I went to see the midwife on Tuesday for a routine week 34 appointment. Did the usual aim in the bottle trick, she checked my blood pressure which was fine and gave me the once over. She listened into Thomas's heartbeat which has thankfully returned to normal after last week. She measured my bump which was one centimetre biger than it should be which is still okay. I am due to see the midwife again next week as I am not 100% yet so they are keeping an eye on me.
Today I am excited and nervous. We are having our 4d scan tonight which I am so looking forward to but half of me is slightly scared that it might show up something wrong. My logical, rational side tells me that it will be fine after all all limbs were present at the last scan! It should be brillant to see Thomas in such detail especialy as my bump has been making some unusual moves and shapes. It seems that Thomas is moving and grooving more and more.
I think he might be getting reading to come so I have told him not yet - his room is not ready!

Don't worry about the drugs. Our sons survived very similar ones andl they have turned out very well. They both had an intake of steroids via me to develop their lungs as they might have been early. Then I was on the highest dose possible of salbutinol and indomethecin (both usually used to treat asthma). James had the dose for 4 months, David for 2. I did find that it made my heart beat very fast and also that of the babies. This means you must rest for it to be safe for you. However it is OK.
Keep smiling.
