A First Glimpse at our little boy

Ever since Thursday evening I have been trying to put into words the 4d scan we had at First Glimpse in Wrexham. Three days later I am no further forward and words fail me to describe how it felt to see Thomas in the womb for the first time as a proper baby and our little boy.

The experience is truly indescribable. I felt overwhelmed with emotion and happiness to see Thomas. There he was asleep and sucking his thumb, rubbing his eyes and resting his arm over his face.

My little boy doing real boy things being really alive and amazing. I have surprised myself with the love I have for him. I am totaly smitten with him and can't wait to hold him and tell him I am his mum and that I love him more than words can say.

The scan shows him as a real person, our Thomas. The scan not only showed us the real Thomas but also that all was okay with him.

I personally have not had the best scans at Wrexham's Maelor Hospital and have often felt like a nuisance asking questions and seeking reassurance. The attitude and commitment of the private scanographer could not be further apart as she was happy to spend as much time as we wanted showing us Thomas and checking him medically to make sure he was as he should be.

I would say for any would-be parents the 4d scan is a must and should be on the list of things just as important as the Moses basket, you get to see a proper baby. Also I have already formed a bond so strong that I could not have formed I don't think had I not seen Thomas in this way. He is cute, amazing, cheeky like his dad with his mother's fat arms! But most of all he is our boy and we have had the privilege of knowing him at minus six weeks old and that is indescribable.
